Are you curious about the magical world of ICE DYEING?!
Join local artist Megan Jewel at Home Malone Mid-City on Saturday September 10th for introduction to ice dyeing using fiber reactive dye, sunshine, and ICE!
In this workshop, attendees will create their own ice dyed cotton bandanas (2 per person) and learn the following:
- Shibori techniques to create patterns on your textile
- How to use fiber reactive dyes with ice
- Basic color theory for working with ice dyes to create vibrant colorful results
- How to upcycle textiles and clothing with ice dye
The workshop will be held at Home Malone, 629 N. Carrollton Ave in Mid-City. The workshop will begin promptly at 11am and will be approximately 2.5 hours long.
Please be prepared to be OUTSIDE. Wear proper footwear to be in a grassy yard, bring a hat/sunscreen, and dress for the weather (it will be hot!). Attendees will be provided gloves but please bring your own mask to wear when using the powdered dyes for safety.
Attendees will be given ziplock bags to take their textiles home to be thoroughly rinsed and washed. Light refreshments will be offered but please bring any additional water, drinks or snacks you may want during the class.
Tickets are non-refundable but are transferrable.
